How it specifically works?

Nowadays, artificial intelligence is more and more present: it simplifies repetitive tasks, allows revolutionary innovations (think of autonomous cars), and can even make your life at home easier (home automation). AI is essential to make this application work, and more specifically with machine learning. Our project is based on supervised learning, we have to form our model. Based on key elements of certain monuments or historical sites, the model should be able to give us its name (and then redirect us to a short description if necessary). To do this, we have to give a database (only photos) to the computer which is very varied so that it is able to recognise the monument, depending on the sunshine, shade, viewpoint, distance etc. visible in the photo taken by the user.

Thus, when the user is going to take a photo of something, the algorithm will compare this photo and especially the key elements with the photos that will be in its database. The photos that are most relevant to the original photo will be chosen by the AI and the computer will then mention the name of the monument. The identification of the monument has a certain degree of accuracy, which may vary.
